Many non-QEs have asked me for books that I recommend. Obviously I tell them that I am not a bleeding search engine and they should google 'books recommendations for nitwits'. Better yet, they should take the bus to their local library and ask the librarian.

This inevitably leads to a lot of whinging about how the bus stop is too far away or the library operating hours do not take into account their individual work schedule and the fact that their children have tennis lessons on Saturday mornings.

In order to avoid those emails, I have created a basic reading list. If you don't like these books, that's fine. Please don't tell me about it. Just stop reading them and go read something else.

Here are my recommendations. You may find them useful. You may not. Whatever.
